Cabana Moţilor

The food is great, and the cozy, family-like atmosphere feels just like being at grandma's house.

We needed to book by phone to have lunch here. Last winter, a few friends and I did, and it was a delightful meal with fantastic food. They also have a little shop with natural and handmade things, including tea, wine, honey, pickles, and gems. We brought some home as a way to keep a bit of the mountain experience with us.

The view was lovely, and the place itself was good. The staff were new but kind and helpful. Our room was small and didn't really suit three people, so we needed an extra bed at additional cost. We couldn't leave the windows open because there was no bug protection. I'd make the beds bigger and add screens. The food was okay and the service was good.

Update: we came back for dinner while we were in the area. It seems they've sorted out the problems, and I can recommend the place again. Earlier, we'd stayed overnight and had lunch here a couple of times. The views are beautiful and the food is usually great, but on a busy day the place was badly understaffed. With so few options in the area, it gets busy, and there wasn't much available to order. Service was awful. They seemed unsure what was still available; after we ordered from the remaining options, we were told they couldn't make that order either. It felt like they gave out whatever food they had, regardless of the orders they'd taken. The dessert situation was the last straw. We changed our order three times and they still couldn't provide three portions of anything, even though we'd had a reservation. It was unfortunate, and at the time I said we wouldn't be back soon.
