The Wooden House

We had a lovely time in this quiet village and are thinking of coming back. The hosts were very friendly, and the chalet had a spacious garden where the kids played with the cats and had fun with hide and seek. The terrace was nice for reading or relaxing in the afternoon while they slept. The kitchen is well equipped, though there’s no oven, and we grilled every evening. There are two bathrooms, but only one has a shower, which was fine for us though it could be improved. There’s a new washing machine downstairs that we didn’t use. The area has mountain views and nice places to visit nearby.

Cheile Turzii is just around the corner, and the surrounding scenery is amazing. This is a great family getaway, with a back-to-basics feel while still having the amenities you’re used to at home. If you’re up for an adventure, you can take the forest road.

The people here were kind and made us feel at home without bothering us. It’s a good spot for a group of four families, with parking for 3-5 cars inside and plenty more outside. There’s also a public pool five minutes away on foot. The location gets you out of the city bustle while keeping the roads manageable, and it’s near Turda Gorges and Ciucaș Waterfall, with Salina about 30 minutes away by car. We liked the big, airy yard, with hammocks, armchairs, loungers, a basketball hoop and court, trees, and greenery. The spacious terrace has a fully equipped barbecue. Inside, there’s a large living room with a big TV, audio system, and a big table for rummy or poker, plus a fully equipped kitchen. The rooms aren’t anything special, but do the job. There are two bathrooms: the upstairs one serves three rooms and has no shower, while the ground-floor one is for the living room. A successful stay. The only inconvenience would be...
