5 Chirpici - Small Traditional Resort

After a day on the road, this little hotel near the Danube Delta felt like a real retreat. The team, from reception through the restaurant and spa, were warm and welcoming. Inside, the minimalist design feels international in quality, while the traditional exterior gives the place a lovely cultural mix. I’ve managed boutique properties for years, and I’d happily recommend it for a distinctive stay in this beautiful region.

The meals were delicious, with vegetables and meat from the property's own farm and fresh fish brought in each morning by local fishermen. The staff were helpful and friendly, too. Great setting, and the place was clean and comfortable.

The included breakfast was very basic, and I’d suggest eating here only for that. Dinner felt overpriced, and the fish was inconsistent: some was good, some wasn't. The property was mostly clean, though one bathroom had an odd smell. We also had no Wi-Fi during one of the stays and had to rely on roaming. It was OK overall.

We stayed for a few nights in mid-April. The rooms were nicely decorated, and getting there was easy. The food was fantastic, and the staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. Thanks so much, we hope to return soon.
