The food was good, and the two workers were polite and attentive. Beyond that, I had a very poor stay. Several large dogs are kept in small fenced areas, and their waste isn’t cleaned up, so the garden smells awful everywhere. The sunbeds, benches, and tennis court were all in bad shape. Dust from the road along one side of the property gets onto everything, even the covered benches, and they aren’t cleaned. The garden chair cushions are used by cats and dogs overnight, and the tablecloths were as dirty as doormats. I’d give room cleanliness 2 out of 5. The walls are so thin that you can hear your neighbor talking, and the wooden floors are noisy. You end up going to bed when the last person does and waking when the first person gets up. There’s dust around the property, and herding dogs roam the road. They’re large and mean, and one bit my car and damaged the fender. The main attractions nearby are 30-60 minutes away by car. For this price, there are much more appealing options elsewhere.

The air up there is so clean that deep breaths gave me goose bumps. We had a great time with the family this summer, even though rain kept us from enjoying the surroundings. The host made sure we were comfortable and looked after us. The food was BOMB, and the whole place felt calm and peaceful. We’d definitely return for longer next time.

The staff were very friendly, and I found some sweet, sociable dogs and cats around the place. There’s an outdoor football court with tennis nets and basketball hoops. Still, it’s very isolated, with no mobile signal, and the only access road is rough. The WiFi stops working when more than two people use it. Meals were repetitive, with mamaliga (polenta), some kind of meat dish, and soup each day, and nothing special. The first-floor walls are decorated with stuffed animals. Rooms and showers are quite small. Sometimes there’s no hot water, and the electrical supply can’t handle a hair dryer.

The stay was decent aside from two issues that made the experience disappointing. We were using the villa for wedding guests, but they weren’t allowed to use hair straighteners, flat irons, or similar devices, which is a real problem when you’re attending a wedding. They had also clearly said there’d be someone on site who spoke English for foreign guests, but the woman there only spoke French, so that wasn’t helpful.

The views are fantastic, and the host was warm and friendly. A great place to spend a few days on holiday. Just be prepared for no GSM signal!
