Hotel Terra

We had a great time, ate very good food, and got to relax a lot. The massage was amazing, the best I've ever had. I recommend it!

The breakfast was excellent, with lots of choices, and there are 6 coffee machines, so even on a busy morning you rarely have to wait in line. I also liked the outdoor restaurant, set up to look like the Amazon forest. The interiors have been refreshed nicely, like the hotel is coming back to life, though I think there's still some work to do on the outside. The mattress was amazing and I slept really well.

The food was fine, but the kitchen seemed unprepared for the number of guests. Dinner included a performance, though it was so loud at times that we could barely hear each other even while sitting far from the stage. The dining room felt small for how booked the hotel was, and it had no air conditioning. We stayed with family for about a week, on the top fifth floor. The place was nice enough, but the serious drawbacks didn't match the high price. There was no Wi-Fi on our floor, so we had to use data. The location may seem isolated at first, but there's a busy street with restaurants and shops right next to the hotel, and the beach is a 10 minute walk through a beautiful park and lake. The shower pressure was ridiculously low, like washing with a drinking fountain. The air conditioning in our rooms worked fine, but the public indoor areas, including the restaurant and lobby, had none, during the peak of August. There were no English menus. We were literally told, "YOU'RE IN ROMANIA". The rooms were somewhat small and had no telephones or safe. I was alone in mine and was fine, but I can only imagine how uncomfortable it was for the two couples I was traveling with, especially if they had children. Cleaning mostly meant changing the towels. I think my room was properly cleaned only once during my 6 day stay, and the toiletries weren't replaced. One day I came back to a strong bologna smell, even though I hadn't had any food in the room. I opened the door and was hit with it, so I think one of the cleaning ladies may have taken a lunch break in there.

The design is modern and the location is great. The rooms are clean and fresh, the food is excellent, and all the staff are very polite and professional.
