Novum by the sea

The manager isn't fair or firm. One star feels right for this hotel.

The rooms stayed spotless throughout our visit, and they’re spacious, with large balconies, though the view isn’t anything special. We also liked the pools and spa. Towels are provided at the outdoor pool, beach, and indoor spa pool, so there’s no need to bring them from your room. The resort itself is very good, and the food has plenty of variety, both at the buffet and on the à la carte menu. Restaurant staff were warm and considerate, but seemed overwhelmed: orders often took a while, and items we’d ordered were sometimes missing. The garden and children’s play area could make better use of the space, which is why I’d give it four stars rather than five. The underground car park tends to fill up, but there seemed to be enough spaces outside. The beach is currently in poor condition while local authorities expand it, so it may not suit a trip focused on the sea and beach right now. Maybe next year. I hope the work goes well. It’s a great place, and there’s room to make it even better for the money.

The kids and adults both had a great time with the entertainment, and the food was excellent. Such a unique spot on the Black Sea coast, with a lovely beach. Can’t wait to come back!

We went in the off-season and it was peaceful, with hardly anyone else around. Our modern, chic two-bedroom apartment had a living room and two balconies. The staff were kind and looked after everything, and there was lots of good food to choose from. The pool was okay, though I imagine kids spend more time playing outside in summer. We enjoyed wandering through the garden, with its mini golf, swings, and other activities, and exploring nearby. The beach was under heavy construction while we were there, so I hope it’s ready by summer. Also, there are lots of cats! Really nice stay.
