Hotel Meitner

The rooms are spacious, towels and toiletries are provided, and the location is good. Still, I’d give this place two stars, not three. Hospitality was lacking. Three ladies seemed to run the front desk, restaurant, and probably cleaning too; one was very old, and we couldn’t communicate with her. They advertise two restaurants, but these are rooms kept locked, so you can’t use them to sit with friends. We were two young married couples and asked if we could spend an hour or two together after 9 pm, when it was already dark. They refused, saying the rooms were only for groups, which made us feel insignificant and uncared for. Breakfast costs 25 RON for a plate of cold items. We didn’t order it, but saw the plates and thought they looked poor, so you’d get better value eating at the resort. The restaurant didn’t feel like a restaurant, just a kitchen where the front desk lady put on an apron and took ham and cheese from the fridge. The coffee was from an ordinary machine and very weak, like tea. The value was good, but I wouldn’t stay there again when I return to Predeal.
