Villa Hera Luxury

There’s breakfast, a pool, sauna, and a play area for kids, all the usual things. What mattered most to me was that the room had plenty of space for my wife, our two kids, and me. At other hotels we’ve had to book two rooms because there was only one bed. Here the space was generous, and the price was fair.

The indoor play area for kids was nice, and the hotel’s decor and furniture looked good. The indoor pool has no separate area for children. Restaurant food was somewhere between average and good, but the staff were kind and helpful, which earns them an extra star from me. We had no hot water one night. I was also concerned about cleanliness: there were marks on the carpet, and the coffee machine looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. Check the photo.

The room was big and clean when we arrived, and the food was good. On a longer stay, though, they weren’t very keen to keep it clean. A couple of days, work in the hotel made a lot of noise around noon and woke us up. That was rough with a little kid sleeping at that hour. Dinner was another letdown: some of it was cold, there wasn't enough for the number of guests, and there was nothing to drink, not even tap water, unless you paid. When I spoke with the manager, she offered excuses instead of trying to find a solution. Sad that small things are affecting what could be such a good hotel.

The apartment itself was quite nice, and the food was great, though I’d have liked more variety. The carpet looked really dirty, like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time, though maybe it was just me. A few small things bothered me, but I still had a pretty nice stay and think four stars is fair.
