A Booking.com mix-up meant we had to find somewhere for one night at short notice, and the staff here were friendly and helpful. The place was clean and comfortable enough for what we needed. The accommodation felt a bit quick and cheap, and somewhat unfinished, like some other places we'd experienced in Romania.
The building is new, with a fully equipped kitchen for preparing your own meals, and bringing in food and drinks is allowed. There’s no restaurant or bar, and card payments aren’t available, so payment is cash only. The location is very high up in Rânca, just a little way from the ski slope, and the view is breathtaking. I imagine it’s even more appealing in winter.
The hosts can provide tea and coffee, but you’ll need to go into Ranca for food. The rooms are comfortable, and the amazing view and quiet setting away from the other houses make this one of the best places to stay here. I’d have given it five stars, but on our last visit the hosts cancelled because of a family emergency and forgot to let us know. We only discovered it when we arrived and found the place closed.
It’s the cheapest place to stay in the village. Good enough, though nothing special.
The rooms were clean, and we had a lovely, peaceful stay with a special view. We felt wonderful there 😘
