Hotel Piatra Craiului

Before bringing my dog, I asked the staff whether dogs were allowed in the restaurant because I was hoping to have lunch there. They said it was pet friendly, but once we sat on the terrace, the same staff member called my dog aggressive. He’s trained and well behaved, has never bitten a person or another animal, and has never had an incident like that. I was really disappointed by the way the staff handled it. I didn’t argue, we just left. I understand they may have concerns because he’s medium-sized, but that doesn’t justify labeling a dog aggressive. It’s disappointing that medium or large dogs aren’t welcome in this part of the country.

Our first meal here turned out better than we expected, and the prices were very reasonable. We paid 150 lei/30 euros for two soups, two main courses, and one large water. There were only two tables occupied, so the food came pretty quickly, and the quality was great.

The room looked nice apart from a few things: the curtains were cut, and the pillows were awful. Everything else was fine. Food depends on what you order. I wouldn’t get the potatoes, fries or whatever, since they’re definitely not the specialty. The papanasi dessert was tasty, but not outstanding.

There’s a lovely view and a relaxing atmosphere, especially if you spend the afternoon on the summer terrace. The food is delicious, with plenty of beef, pork, chicken, and fish dishes, plus vegetarian options. The desserts are excellent.
