The walk up to the walled Citadel above Saschiz was a highlight. Back at the house, Johann showed us around the garden and shared stories about Saxon history. His family made us feel so welcome, and dinner was delicious: grilled chicken, veggie pasta salad, then homemade cake with rhubarb and raspberries from the garden. We enjoyed every minute and would happily stay again.

A comfortable, clean base for exploring Sighisoara, Rupea, Viscri and Crit. The hosts prepare the food and drinks themselves using local products from their household, and they were exceptional. Highly recommend staying here.

The owners really go out of their way to make a stay special. The place is cozy, peaceful and family run, and the owner knows a remarkable amount about Transylvanian history. If you’re curious, start a conversation with him. We were in awe. A great spot to stay if you’re in the area.

The room and bathroom were large, warm and extremely clean, and the hosts were respectful. We had our own parking in the courtyard, and they let us bring the alcoholic drinks we wanted since they didn’t have them. We spent New Year’s Eve here, knowing the guest house wasn’t open to groups. Still, it was so quiet that we felt we had to whisper, with no music and only a silent TV. The TV in our room also had a small screen and a badly oversaturated picture; changing the settings didn’t help. Rooms are entered from a shared outdoor terrace, where smoking isn’t allowed, only in the courtyard. There’s no restaurant. The host cooks homemade food, which may or may not suit you, and the choices are limited.

Pensiunea Keisd is a cozy, picturesque spot, and the food is so tasty it’s almost overwhelming. The staff will also share some local history. Go enjoy Saschiz, you won’t regret it. Cheers!
