The receptionist was lovely. We arrived late, and she stayed on to check us in. Breakfast was fine, with plenty of choices, but the hotel feels dated and needs updating. Our sheets were stained, there was hair in the bed, and the pillows were uncomfortable.

The staff made a real difference to my stay. They took time to learn what I was interested in and gave me very useful advice that made the experience much more enjoyable. They were professional and efficient as well. Sebes is an interesting little city to explore, and the hotel is well placed for visiting the Carpathian mountains and historical sites around the Transylvania area.

Update 2024: I’ve been eating at the restaurant a lot lately, and it’s probably become one of my favorite places in all of Romania. The food is excellent, the menu has plenty of variety, and the quality is high. I’ve especially come to love the Sachsen omelette with cheese and mushrooms. It’s so tasty I could eat it every day. 2022: The restaurant is excellent and has become my go-to place to catch up with friends in Sebeș. The new wing looked gorgeous when I got an advance viewing, and I was excited for it to open. The hotel is excellent for a 4* stay, especially that new wing. There’s also a beautiful venue for weddings or events that could probably seat 200-300 people. The view in my pictures is from the exclusive top terrace, looking out over the city and surroundings. Highly recommended.

Traveling motorcyclists seem to favor this as a good place to spend the night in Sebeș. It’s very quiet, and it’s okay.
