Blumenhaus Sibiu

The studio was spotless, and checking in and out was easy. The center is within walking distance, and the location is really convenient. The rooms are fine, though families with little kids might prefer something else. There was a party in the backyard until 3 AM, and the kids kept waking up, so it was hard to rest.

Breakfast had plenty of choice and was delicious. The rooms are spacious and clean, and you can have coffee or tea depending on what you prefer. It's a comfortable boutique hotel near the center, with the same warm welcome we've had on our visits over the past few years. For street parking, TPark is the more convenient way to pay.

The room was nice and the location is great, but I wouldn't recommend staying here if you have a car, don't speak Romanian, and want to sleep in. Parking costs a reasonable 10 lei per day, and we parked right outside the apartment. The trouble is, the city parking app is only in Romanian, and parking has to be paid from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM every day. The machines don't seem to offer a multi-day option. To keep things legal as a foreigner, I had to get up at 7:55 AM to pay for more time and put a fresh ticket in the car. At 8:00 AM, three other people were queued at the machine too, and, like me, they were laughing at how ridiculous the system was. There was nobody at the hotel to help find another option. The worst part was being told before making a non-refundable booking that parking was free, as shown in the photo. They later confirmed by text that this wasn't true. They also acted as if paid parking was a recent change in Sibiu, saying, “sorry now you have to pay for parking,” when it has apparently been that way for several years. I checked and confirmed it wasn't new. To me, their Booking.com page is misleading and their texts were deceitful. They left us only 1.1 tiny rolls of toilet paper, and there was nobody around to help if it ran out. I wondered if we were supposed to use the hand towels instead. I think the caretaker was there, but she went out of her way not to identify herself to us. This could be a great place, but the dishonesty was blatant. Most places here have been very honest and helpful, so I'd look elsewhere.

The breakfast buffet is mostly homemade, and the woman serving it was friendly and engaging. The owners were friendly too. Our room was neat and clean, and had a pleasant smell. Keep in mind that the diagonal spaces by the entrance are reserved for city employees.
