We parked outside the hotel, and the walk into the town center was short. The owner met us when we arrived. He didn’t speak English, but we managed to sort out the door code, Wi-Fi, and checkout. The room was clean and had a cool, original Egyptian style. The hot rainfall shower was nice, and we used the warm pool at 8 p.m. No staff were around after check-in, but they could be contacted if we had a problem. We didn’t have any issues.

The pool is a little hidden gem. You can use it privately each day, and that alone makes the place worth considering. The street is quiet, though it looks like the outskirts of the city, and the center is a 13-minute walk away. The rest was mediocre. Materials like the doors, tulle curtains, and laminate floor were low-cost and in bad condition. Without a shower curtain, puddles kept forming on the bathroom floor. I asked for toilet paper and no one brought any. It was much the same with the hair dryer, which I only got 24 hours after asking.

The only thing going for this place is the location, about a ten-minute walk to downtown Sibiu. The rooms are painted in awful red and violet, with mirrors near the beds, but they don’t have basic things like power outlets or nightstands. Two power cords dangled from the walls, and I had to stretch one just to charge my phone on the floor. There are no shelves in the wardrobe, so I stacked all my clothes on its bottom shelf. There’s no air conditioning, and the bathroom floor gets extremely slippery after a shower. During our three-night stay, nobody asked if we wanted fresh towels. There was no toilet paper, no one at reception, and although the Wi-Fi was there, we weren’t given a password. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else.

We had the room with a jacuzzi, and it was an awesome experience. The place also has a swimming pool, and the rooms are nice and comfortable. Service was good, and the location is convenient for the historic center.
