A great host and a really nice place.

The location was okay, and we were greeted fine, but the villa had a lot of problems. The kitchen floor was filthy, the furniture was quite old, and the fridges and cutlery were dirty. The oven was broken, but we weren’t told. We’d already started cooking and had everything ready to go in when we asked why it wasn’t working. The owner said we should have asked permission first. The whole house smelled strongly of mothballs, coming from the closets in every room. The yard is shared with the owners, and to get in you have to pass in front of their house. There was one shared bathroom for the upstairs rooms, and you could hear everything because the walls are wood and very thin. The hot water pressure was low, so we had to turn it up ourselves at the boiler to wash. The back yard is small and sloped, which felt dangerous with small children since you can’t let them roam freely. We won’t be coming back.

Coffee in the fresh mountain air in the flower-filled courtyard was a lovely way to start the day. The place is quiet, the room and bathroom were clean, and the hosts were welcoming. We’d happily come back.

Ryngo kept us entertained with his little shows, and the people here felt refreshingly genuine. We had everything we needed, plus helpful updates about routes and suggestions for nice places nearby. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend it.
