Hotel Piatra Soimului

We had a clean room with hot water the whole time and even a shower with radio. The staff, from reception to housekeeping, were super friendly and helpful. The kids especially loved the playground, and the plants around it are thoughtfully chosen. The backyard has a superb view of the Bucegi mountains, in a quiet part of Sinaia. Kuib serves very tasty, generous portions. If you’re tall, avoid the top-floor rooms because of the sloping ceiling. Two of those rooms also have no balcony. We had a good stay and will visit again.

The location has a great view and good trekking options nearby, and the restaurant was great too. I wasn’t as happy with the management: our large group had planned a corporate party in advance, but guests were checked into nearby rooms, so we were told to turn off the music and whisper :). Still, it’s a lovely spot.

I’ve stayed here in both the hotel and a Vila apartment. The apartment was the ultimate Prahova Valley experience, with separate rooms, a balcony and barbecue, a kitchen, and a huge bathroom. On another visit I spent 2 nights in the hotel, where the room was very nice and the beds and pillows were super comfortable. I was lucky to get a corner room with a huge balcony. I recommend choosing Piatra Șoimului for a short or long vacation.

There’s a big garden with kids’ play equipment, so it’s good for families. The restaurant is nice, and the terrace is well covered with umbrellas for rain :). The location is nice too. The apartments have slightly old furniture.
