Pensiunea Boema

The rooms were very nice and clean, and the view was great. My only disappointment was the yard: the grass was overgrown, making the kids’ play area look abandoned. That’s why I gave four stars.

Quiet surroundings, a nice view, a big garden, plenty of parking, friendly staff, and a fair price. On the downside, there were dogs around the house, no shops nearby, and breakfast didn’t have much variety. It’s also quite far from the attractions. Fine for a stop while passing through Sinaia.

Breakfast was generous, varied, and good, and the coffee was great. The room, sheets, and towels were clean. The backyard was a lovely place to sit with morning coffee, probably the strongest point of the property. The approach road was industrial, and the location was farther out than we expected, though that’s just something to know in advance. Our twin room was much smaller than we’d imagined, including the beds, and the shower felt claustrophobic even for us, who are pretty skinny. We confirmed at reception that we had the twin room, not the small twin, so apparently there’s an even smaller option. The room was clean but everything looked old, like second-hand hotel furnishings. One towel had a stain and a hole despite being clean, as were the sheets. The mattresses seemed so worn we could feel the individual springs in one of them. The stay left me feeling like I’d landed in the communist era, with little hospitality-industry training on display.

This was my second stay. The location is good, but this time we were placed with a group of partygoers who loved grilling meat. There seems to be no guest selection at all. They played music endlessly, apparently expecting everyone else to listen and enjoy it, without realizing they were disturbing people. It’s like that in much of Romania.
