Hotel Tolea

It's in a quiet part of town, yet close to the center. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and well equipped, and the food is tasty. It has a boutique hotel feel. I'll certainly come back.

I really like this hotel and its people, so it's hard to write this. The location is excellent, right in the city center, and the rooms are what you'd expect from a four-star place. Staff were kind when I called after breakfast with nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. They brought me tea. The symptoms lasted about seven hours, and I was stuck in my room for the day. This happened a few hours after the complimentary breakfast, though I can't say for certain what caused it. A year earlier, we had also found bugs in the breakfast cereal. I hope the owner reviews how breakfast is handled so this doesn't happen to anyone else. The hotel services are fine, but breakfast has been a real disappointment.

A really lovely surprise. Everything went beyond what I expected.

The room had a good-sized balcony and a lovely bathroom with a walk-in shower and everything we needed. It was spotless and a nice size by European hotel standards, with a very comfortable bed. The minibar wasn't getting cold, which was about the only problem. The hotel has a lift, is spotless throughout, and has a pleasant dining area downstairs. Staff were helpful, though not as friendly as at some other hotels. There's a local tourist guide in the room with places to visit. On arrival we were asked to wait for our room, which was fine since we were early, but we felt more like a nuisance than people they were trying to help. We left our bags and came back shortly after. We stayed two nights in Targoviste, and the hotel is on a quiet backstreet, a short walk from the town park, shops, and other good places. It's a really nice hotel, well placed and peaceful while still close to what you need. I'd recommend it, though a few extra touches and access to tea or coffee would make it better.
