Hotel Doina

The reception staff and other workers were really kind, but the guests were noisy and didn’t seem to respect anyone else. The room itself was dirty, the hotel feels old, and the bathroom smelled awful. Gaps under the door and between the windows let in street noise, so sleeping was difficult. There’s no view, and the price feels far too high for what you get. It looks much better in the photos. Had I known what to expect, I wouldn’t have come. There are cheaper, better options in the station.

They ration the toilet paper, which feels like the hotel is still stuck in communism. The building dates from the 1980s, and it seems like not a dime has been invested since. Don’t be fooled by the 3.5 rating. Maybe regular customers give it that score because they don’t have running water at home. My advice: run from this place like a bat out of hell.

They never cleaned our room, and the “suite” we paid for was tiny and cramped. Go anywhere else. Sleeping on the beach would be better than staying here.

The building and restaurant feel painfully old-fashioned, like a communist-era experience. The staff do everything they can to make the stay pleasant, though. For the price, the service is good, and the beach is only 50 metres away.
