Hotel Rais

I've been a customer for more than five years, and seeing this place in 2023 was heartbreaking. What you used to be, and what you've become! The bathroom had one dried-up soap and some sort of shower gel, as the pictures show. The restaurant is a disaster, just wings and chicken breast. I ordered the BBQ Ribs they used to be famous for, and what a letdown. They seemed like tired pork ribs, probably frozen for six months. Everything is cabbage. Such a shame. This place used to be so cool!

I’d stay here again if I’m in the area. It’s on a quiet street close to the center, and there’s parking for about five cars at the hotel, with street parking possibly available too. The rooms and private bathroom were clean. Breakfast was okay, though you have to choose it from the menu. The building has three floors and no elevator.

We didn’t feel safe here, and I wouldn’t recommend staying. The hotel was open much of the time with no staff around, so anyone could walk in. There were groups of boys using drugs, including smoking weed from a bong and sniffing cocaine. We also noticed things missing from rooms, including money and jewelry. We found long blonde hair in our suitcase, though we all have dark hair and knew it wasn’t the maid’s. The staff were unfriendly and ignorant, except for one man. The room was shabby, with mouse droppings in the shower and a filthy shower head. The bed was full of fleas and we were bitten badly. There were gas leaks, and when one happened we were lucky to wake up, but they wouldn’t let us go outside for air. The busy street also felt dangerous, with car crashes right on the doorstep. They advertise free parking, but the lot only fits three cars. The one good thing was that we were out all day and ate elsewhere. It was a dirty dump of a hotel.

The location is handy for the city center, and the people working there were nice. We ate well, too. Our room was clean, as was the bathroom, which had ventilation, but it stayed rather dark even with the lights on.
