Hotel Marissa

The restaurant served good food, and there are indoor hot pools. The rooms are large, clean, and nice. The hotel is close to the Strand, thermal baths, and wellness facilities. The sauna had a slight moldy smell.

Dust covered the hallways, and getting to the pool meant going out onto an external balcony. The hotel is currently being renovated, but the receptionist hadn't told us. Our room was so small that three beds had only one nightstand, and its wallpaper was peeling. The bathroom fixtures were old and musty, with visible corrosion. This doesn't feel like a three-star hotel, and I wouldn't recommend it.

We spent a week in Tasnad for my sister-in-law's wedding. We had plenty of meals with family, but Maryssa's restaurant became our regular spot. The terrace was airy and lovely, with a direct view of and access to the pool. The staff made the experience, especially manager Virginia, who put us at ease on our first day. Our group spoke only French and English, so it was hard to make ourselves understood. We could be rowdy and turn up at any time, but they always had a table ready for us. We can't thank them enough. The food was good, though a little different. Breakfast was fresh, the orange juice freshly squeezed, and the coffee was okay. The menu had plenty of choice, including good pizza and pasta. The hotel service was very poor, and I wouldn't recommend staying here. Tășnad itself is lovely, and the thermal water has amazing benefits, but this place is very outdated. I paid for a room with AC and a “jacuzzi.” The AC only made noise and didn't work. After filling the so-called jacuzzi tub, I found it wasn't working either. No one was at reception, but a gentleman eventually came up with a toilet plunger and primed the water pump. The water was nasty afterward, and the woman helping him wiped her hands on my towel. I gave up on using it. The showerhead sprayed water all over the bathroom. I asked for the manager, but there wasn't one available. I don't like leaving bad reviews, but this wasn't acceptable.
