Pension Park

I only stayed one night, but the place was really good. The owner was wonderful, warm, and helpful with everything we needed. There’s a spot where you can help yourself to tea, coffee, and some fresh fruit. Recommended.

The good points were hot water in the shower and a convenient location, though there are better places nearby. The rest of our stay was terrible, even for a place rated four stars. Our room was cold and dark, and smelled bad. The building was poorly lit, the bathroom had a bad smell and mould in the corners, and the rooms were cleaned only if we specifically asked. There was also a strange cooking smell throughout the building, despite breakfast being the only meal served. Breakfast was average and not self-service. The heating didn’t work, and the blankets were thin for October nights when it was 2 degrees Celsius. When we opened a window on a warmer day to try to reduce the smell and warm up the room, the owner/manager blamed us. He was rude, confrontational, and didn’t fix the heating, and we were frightened by his aggressive behavior. Eventually we left two days early because he kicked us out and threatened to throw our things onto the street unless we left immediately. The staff, especially the owner/manager, were unhelpful and unprofessional. This was the worst place we’ve ever stayed, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

The hotel is in the center of Timisoara, on a peaceful, well-lit street, and you can walk to many sights and lovely places nearby. A beautiful park is also within walking distance, with good lighting at night and a children's playground. The rooms were spacious and lovely, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was great, and the whole hotel was extremely clean. We also appreciated the parking and the wonderful atmosphere. Alex gave us a warm welcome and treated us and our dog so well. He took care of us from the reservation through arrival, our stay, and departure. A wonderful hotel and host. I recommend it!

The breakfast was the one genuinely good part, a fresh and simple plate with a nice variety. For one night, July 4 to 5, 2022, I paid 197 lei to sleep in a medium-sized bed, and I wouldn’t return. In single room number 8, I found large spiders in all four corners and what looked like “golden dust” everywhere. The remote for the air conditioner was broken and made a disturbing sound when I pressed the power button. The air conditioner itself stopped after 5-10 minutes. The man at reception tried to fix it but couldn’t, so I had to stay in a room at 25 degrees Celsius. Just great. It also wasn’t a friendly place to stay, and I wouldn’t want to bother that “great and friendly man” at reception again.
