Pensiunea Poiana Izvoarelor

The city view from this hillside restaurant was lovely, and the food was a treat. Each dish, from the appetizers through dessert, had plenty of flavor and care put into it. A memorable meal with a beautiful panorama.

The views are stunning, and the young man at reception and the restaurant was trying hard, though the service could use a bit more polish. We’d been looking forward to our stay, but the rooms and interior were disappointing. The building feels shabby inside and needs some renovation.

The view from the location is amazing, and the staff made me feel very welcome. They went out of their way to keep me comfortable during my stay at Pensiunea Poiana Izvoarelor. I had a fantastic experience and would recommend it to people visiting the area.

The outdoor music started before 9 in the morning beneath our room, so sleeping in wasn’t an option. Noise carried between rooms too, and the kids staying above us kept us awake for a while. Our room was small and nice, but the shower leaked so badly that the bathroom floor was covered in water. The setting is beautiful, and the deer and llamas are a big draw. The restaurant, though, was a real struggle. At dinner we waited half an hour for menus and went to get them ourselves, then waited another half hour for drinks and longer for food, waving to get the waiters’ attention. There were only four tables and two waiters. When the food arrived, it was cold and not what I’d ordered. Breakfast was better for getting the order right, and the different staff brought coffee faster, but the food still took over an hour. We needed another night, but chose to stay somewhere else. That’s what I’d recommend to anyone considering this place.
