Mirage Resort

The staff across reception, spa, restaurant, and cleaning were extremely kind and helpful. You could really feel the Romanian hospitality. The hotel is clean and pleasant, with a great view. The buffet food was decent, though it could be better, while dishes ordered from the restaurant were really good. We booked a New Year’s package here. If you go, make sure to book a massage with Mr. Gheorghe, aka Ghiță. I’ve never had such a great professional massage.

The breakfast was pretty disappointing, with very few options and no croissants, for example. That’s just my personal view based on what I like to eat, so others might not mind it. The rest of the place was clean and neat, with modern, nicely decorated rooms and comfortable beds. I especially liked being able to set the temperature separately in each room. The food I ordered separately from breakfast at the hotel restaurant was amazingly delicious.

We stopped by for a meal with friends from the area, who recommended the place. I only ordered dessert, and the Papanași in the photo were HUGE, so be ready for big portions. The Rădăuțeană Soup was delicious and had lots of meat. Prices seemed pretty good, and service was quick. There were only two other tables occupied at the time.

The staff were cool, and we managed to get two clean rooms with no unpleasant smells after arriving at 3 AM. The bathroom was nice, though the toilet felt a bit too tall for my taste. I’d give it four and a half stars. Breakfast wasn’t quite five-star quality. They told us on the phone that all the rooms were booked even though there seemed to be empty rooms available. I assume that’s their policy.
