Cabana Casa Craita

A lovely base for hiking in the Fagarash or Piatra Craiului mountains. Mr. Dorin knows a lot about the mountains and is happy to share advice. I hope this wasn’t our last visit!

The views all around are amazing, and the hosts are some of the nicest. Everything was so clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen has what you need, so bring your food and cook indoors or on the barbecue. There’s a fun play area in the yard for kids, plus more than one terrace and a fireplace where adults can hang out. It’s a great place for a mountain trip, or especially for a quiet, beautiful weekend or vacation.

We stayed as a family with children, including our youngest, who was just one and a half months old, and didn’t feel uncomfortable at all. The house has everything you need, just as described online, and it’s practical, comfortable and clearly well cared for. The owner is attentive, friendly and hospitable. The house was a little chilly when we arrived, but the stove warmed it up in 30-40 minutes. The equipment was easy to use, and the powerful electric stove made cooking quick. The complex is on tourist routes, with walks of 2-3 kilometers nearby or longer outings for a full day. From the upstairs terrace, you get a fantastic mountain view, and the two armchairs are so comfortable you could spend the day looking out at the forest, mountain and yard. In the evenings, the owner lights a bonfire, and guests can join in for a chat. It’s a lovely tradition. We’ll definitely return on our next vacation, and I recommend it.
