There’s an authentic local feel here, with a touch of Austria that makes the place peaceful and relaxing. The location is excellent, and the hosts are great and can suggest tours. Ideal for people who enjoy the outdoors, though others can enjoy it too.

Everything was clean and neatly organized. The owner is helpful and can advise on routes, making this a great base for MTB rides, trekking, or skiing around the Bucegi and Piatra Craiului mountains.

The bare table was the part that made us feel unwelcome. Our table was the only one without decorations, a tablecloth, dishes, or anything else, just bare wood. We were the only guests not having dinner, and honestly it felt like a pointed reminder that we hadn’t paid for the New Year’s Eve meal. We chose not to buy the two-course dinner because of our food preferences, not the cost. Staff seemed uninterested and did little to make us feel welcome. The nightly rate was also exorbitant. Pensiunea Cehov is conveniently located and seemed well maintained, but the host’s attitude left a lot to be desired. My experience was disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend it to other travelers.

When I’m in the Bran Moieciu area, Cehov Guesthouse feels like my home base. It’s peaceful, the hosts are welcoming, and it’s a great place to set out from and explore the area’s wonderful scenery.
