Hotel Orasac

I've stayed here four times, and the accommodation had made me happy on every visit until the last one. After five nights, I was told at checkout to pay for minibar items I hadn't used. I explained that, but the man at reception still asked me to pay. The 10 EUR bill itself isn't my issue. I didn't like how he handled it.

The hotel has a quiet neighborhood and a very helpful receptionist who spoke good English. We were stressed after misplacing our passports, and she kept trying to help until we found them. Communication before arrival was good too, and breakfast was good. For our one night on a road trip, it was a pleasant stay, though a little pricey for what we got. It's a classic, sophisticated hotel that must once have been popular and great, but it feels older now. The rooms were spacious and nice, but dated, and the mattresses weren't as firm as before. The sofa bed sagged and was uncomfortable. There was a bad moldy smell in the bathroom. The in-room kitchen wasn't working, with no stove or oven, and there were no plates, cups, or utensils. We were told we couldn't use the kitchen in the room. The hotel would benefit from a remodel.

A calm, accessible place with great service. The waiters were professional and kind, and the food was delicious.

It's actually a very good hotel, though Serbian service and that “special Slavic mood” still surprise me :) The big room called Bob had two large spaces, but one small room with a bad. Breakfast was very good, but there was no still water. The receptionist seemed so tired he forgot everything within three minutes :))
