Marquise Hotel

I picked this hotel online during a long drive to Belgium because it advertised secure parking. After driving hundreds of kilometers to central Belgrade, I was told the lot was full. That was a huge letdown after relying on the hotel. The area felt like a slum, and there was fighting and noise when I arrived. I wouldn’t leave my luxury car in a place like that. Booking.com says “secure private parking,” but that wasn’t true. Give accurate information online and don’t mislead people. It felt unsafe.

The staff are polite and willing to help, and the hotel has parking, though getting in and out takes some maneuvering. It’s a good choice for anyone after a straightforward, clean place without many luxuries that still won’t leave you disappointed. Breakfast could use some improvement. The location is very good, near Belgrade’s historic center, and I highly recommend it.

The best thing here is the location. We stayed twice and paid the same both times, but the first room was much nicer than the second. In the second one there were no toiletries, the lock didn’t work properly, it smelled strange, and the curtain was torn. They also had porn channels available at all hours, which I found odd. Parking is really tight, so be careful what car you bring. Breakfast was fine, and the cherry pie was really good.

The location is good, but that parking lot is unbelievably narrow. Anyone who gets in without scraping their car deserves a gift.
