Pavilion Hotel & Social Club

Another lovely stay as a loyal guest at Pavilion Hotel. This time I had a cozy, peaceful studio room, and every day in this place feels precious. I don't think it's fair to compare the hotel with its old party days anymore. What I want to highlight now is the respect it deserves because of general manager Milan, who notices the details and really cares. He was kind enough to stop by and say hello at check-in, such a gentleman. Pavilion Hotel is always a good idea. I hope it keeps going for many more years for everyone who still loves this place. This is only about the restaurant. The gin cocktail was strong and nice, and the other cocktails were okay. The food was plain despite the prices not being high, and the presentation looked messy and far too simple for the place's reputation. We ordered duck risotto and chicken with couscous, but both had almost the same everything-mixed-together texture. Only two of the three desserts were available. The chocolate fondant was average, and the presentation was awful: cake on a small metal plate set on top of a ceramic plate with ice cream. It looked like something from a small cafe, not what we expected. The Instagram menu is out of date.

The cocktails and desserts were good, and the chicken was pretty basic. Service was okay, though the staff seemed unsure at times. We waited a long while for our very tiny wine and cheese plate, and I think they'd forgotten it, so I reminded them. It was strange that the waiter poured my unfinished wine into a fresh glass of wine, and the wine was cold, I know what I'm saying 😎. Some things were nice, but I probably wouldn't return.

The staff were friendly and attentive, and made sure things went smoothly. We had a wonderful stay, with a cozy feel throughout, from the beautifully designed rooms to the warm restaurant. The food was delicious, with a great range of dishes. It was an amazing experience, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone after comfort and great hospitality.
