Veneti Suites Guest House

After another place let my family down, we needed somewhere for one night. We were stuck at the airport, saw a room at Veneti Suites on Expedia, and called. They took us in quickly. The staff were friendly, the room was clean, and the location was great. I’d recommend staying here.

I felt completely safe here as an Asian woman, and my overall experience was good. I booked through Check24, the popular German travel app. Reception is staffed until 10 PM. We were given key cards when we arrived, but about 5-10 minutes after settling in, someone knocked to tell us we had the wrong room. We were exhausted and pretty smelly after a 6+ hour bus ride from Hungary, but luckily hadn’t showered or used much of the room. We followed them to the right one and ended up with a bigger room, so no complaint there. I later added a night because I wasn’t feeling well and our bus didn’t leave until midnight. The reception staff were helpful, and we could keep the same room. They quoted €50, but my card was charged €51.80, probably a small currency conversion difference. For housekeeping, there’s a hanger system to request cleaning. They only replace towels left on the floor, and toiletries aren’t restocked automatically, though you could probably ask for more. Trash was always taken out. The mattress was super comfortable, and the room had heating and air conditioning, comfy indoor slippers, a fridge stocked with drinks and a price list book, a TV and sofa, and a safe for valuables. There was also an electric kettle with coffee sachets and tea, complimentary bottled water, two drinking glasses, two teacups and two teaspoons. A hair dryer was provided, but there was no iron. They supplied soap, shampoo, cotton pads, and Q-tips. No toothbrush or toothpaste, but we’d brought our own.

Amazing location, and the rooms were clean and nice.

The only good part was the evening staff member, who was polite and helpful. Otherwise, this felt like a run-down hostel, with very poor cleanliness and maintenance. We asked to have the shower fixed, but nobody bothered. The morning receptionist was rude and unwelcoming, and the atmosphere was really uncomfortable. I wouldn’t recommend it and won’t return. I’d give zero stars if I could.
