The food is top notch, the wines are incredible, and the service is unlike anything I've experienced in this part of Africa. After two years living in Rwanda and staying in over a dozen lodges, I'd put this one at the top. It's set within a working tea plantation, with a huge main house for dining and lounging, and rooms looking out toward the beautiful, untouched Nyungwe Forest. The design is uncanny.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were both beautiful to look at and delicious, and the service always came with a smile. We spent two nights here and could easily have stayed longer. Our gorgeous room had a full bathroom and looked out over the forest, where we had a good chance of seeing Colobus monkeys and birds. Absolute oasis if you're looking to relax. We hope to return!

A grand, wonderfully distinctive hotel in breathtaking surroundings. Walk in the jungle, swim while looking out over it, and enjoy the luxury. You have to visit.

The pool, cycling through tea gardens, the safari, the whole place, they've all left me with such sweet memories. What an amazing spot. I hope to come back with my family.
