Getting to know Rwanda on my first trip to Africa changed my life. I was nervous about traveling alone, but the whole trip worked out wonderfully. Judith Safaris made planning easy when I had no idea where to start, and communication was clear and quick. I loved supporting a woman-owned and operated business, too. Alice was my guide for a day with the gorillas and two days in Akagera. She knows so much about Rwandan history, wildlife, and the natural environment, and she was organized, capable, and lots of fun. My days were full from dawn until dusk, with game drives, a night drive, and a boat tour, and I learned a ton about the country and its animals. I was treated like a princess the whole time, which I have to admit I enjoyed. Rwanda is beautiful and fascinating, and I’ll be back for sure. I’ve already told all my friends to book with Judith Safaris.

Alice made my two-day Akagera safari really memorable. She knows the animals, the national park landscape, and Rwandan history and culture in real depth, and she paid attention to all the little details. The Judith Safaris team was welcoming, smart, and professional. It was an unforgettable trip.

Judith Safaris got everything organized so quickly and kept in touch the whole time, which put me at ease when I was traveling alone. My guide Justine was the most epic person I’ve ever met, I honestly don’t have words for her. Rwanda is so welcoming, and the people are wonderful. I’d go back in a heartbeat. Don’t hesitate, just book. It was better than I could’ve imagined.

We chose Judith Safaris because it’s a woman-owned and operated business, and Jeanisse was a great driver for our group of seven. She was engaging, knew so much, and cared about both our experience and treating the wildlife respectfully. For $250 per person, we had hotel pickup and drop-off, park entry, a boat ride, and safari snacks. We had room for one more person, but paid for a park guide so she could ride in the vehicle with us. We saw lots of animals, including three of the Big Five. The cats are nocturnal, so we missed the lions and leopards, but that gives me a reason to come back. If you’re in Rwanda and want a safari, I’d recommend them.

Alice and Yvette were excellent guides, and Emily did a great job coordinating everything. They came up with dining options, hotels, and attractions I wouldn’t have thought of, then made the whole thing fit together into a seamless vacation. I arranged a two-week trip through Rwanda and Tanzania for family and friends with Judith Safaris, and I’d recommend them to anyone looking for an authentic East African itinerary. Their work to empower young Rwandan women makes supporting this women-owned company even more worthwhile. They’ve got a customer for life in me.
