The bathroom was disgusting, with no hot water, a leaking pipe, and a blocked drain that let water rise across the floor. From the way they talked, it seemed they knew about the problem from the start. Both beds in my replacement room smelled of urine. My first room hadn’t been cleaned after the previous guest. After I complained, they moved me, but the new room was only slightly cleaner. There were no mosquito nets despite what the website said, and the WiFi didn’t work. This was the worst hotel I’ve stayed in Kigali. I’d never come back and would tell others to choose somewhere else.

I arrived from Uganda very early, at Kigali’s central bus station, and was able to check into my room before 07:00 AM. The price isn’t fixed, so there’s room to bargain, and I got a decent rate for a few nights. Breakfast was included and brought to my room in the morning. There was hot water too. I was pleasantly surprised.
