Villa Asimba

Staying here felt more like being at a friend's place than at a hotel. Justine was so responsive and gave us lots of her time whenever we needed help. We slept comfortably in a spacious room, with wonderfully soft towels, and breakfast was delicious, especially the fresh fruit and homemade croissants. Would recommend.

The two sisters running this villa are amazing, and their customer service is above par. The food, rooms, and service all felt five-star, even though the villa is listed as three-star. It's a real hidden gem if you want somewhere nice to stay in Kigali. We'd highly recommend it.

I liked it so much on the first day that I booked an extra night straight away. The place is elegant and feels secure, with clean rooms, a private bathroom and flat-screen TV in each one, plus loads of channels. They also provide a plug-in mosquito repellent. The staff work hard to make you feel at home and are available around the clock. The owners serve fresh food to avoid illness, and meals are very affordable. It's near the city centre, with parking inside. For the same price, I'd think twice before booking somewhere else. This was my best stay in Rwanda, 10/10, everything was perfect.

A few days before my reservation, which I'd made over three months earlier, they emailed to cancel it. They said the room was being repainted and had been damaged by flooding, but offered no other room. My local contacts said there hadn't been any flooding during that hot summer month, so I suspect the hotel may have carelessly rebooked my room. I'd avoid the place. Very unprofessional.
