Our Habitas AlUla

The facilities are impeccable, and the rooms are thoughtfully designed, quiet, intimate, and serene. There’s also a gym, Spa Center, Coffee, pool, and Restaurant. The golf cart drivers, restaurant staff, and housekeeping team were consistently cheerful, helpful, and hospitable. The wooden bathroom floor is the exception: in the intense sun it can give off a lingering urine smell. We arrived after staying at two Ritz-Carlton properties, in Jeddah and Al Wadi Desert, and at the Taj Dubai, so we had very high expectations for service and facilities. The front desk let us wait nearly 15 minutes even though they didn’t seem busy. At the pool bar, we waited more than 20 minutes for a golf cart. Our room initially had two electric bikes, but one was removed the next day, presumably reassigned to another room. That was surprising but manageable. The remaining bike had a broken rear pedal, making it hard for a passenger to ride along, and its brakes were badly worn, noisy, and inefficient. The stay was incredible overall. Given the price, though, I expected flawless service, ideally better than at the Ritz and the Taj.

The team made us feel welcome and looked after without hovering, and it was clear they cared about giving guests a meaningful stay. That warmth went perfectly with the calm atmosphere across Our Habitas AlUla. By the pool, over a meal, or just looking out at the views, everything felt considered and peaceful. The desert setting and dramatic rock formations are breathtaking. It feels remote and special, but the rooms are still luxurious and comfortable, and blend beautifully into the landscape. From the moment we arrived, it felt like escaping into another world. One of the most unique and unforgettable places we’ve stayed. I couldn’t recommend it more.

The pool music was the one letdown this time. It felt too intense for such a relaxed place and didn’t really suit the vibe. When I visited three months ago, the music matched the atmosphere much better. Everything else was still amazing: the food was delicious, the daily schedule was thoughtful and varied, and the experience was incredible as always.

Ahmed Farhay was so helpful and always smiling, and Raju’s genuine hospitality, care, and attention to detail made a real difference. The whole team was attentive and welcoming. We had a relaxing lunch with friends at Tama Restaurant by the pool, with the mountains of AlUla all around. The landscape made for a peaceful, unforgettable setting, and the view was stunning. The food was simple, fresh, and full of flavor, with every dish prepared perfectly. No faults at all, just clean, well-executed cooking that let the ingredients shine.
