Lafontaine Le Lac Resort

There’s a nice grassy spot in front of the children’s pool where you can sit, and the resort also has chalets and bikes for rent. It was a pleasant time overall, with two pools: one for children with a small aqua park, and one for adults with a tiny baby pool beside it. In the evening they had music and a small show. The only drawback was the lack of a place to change clothes or shower, just a small bathroom with two toilets and sinks.

A bit old, but it made for a great local break from the daily routine and city life. I liked having activities like parasailing, jet ski, sofa ride, cycling, and a water park, plus a private pool. Price 10/10, experience 9/10, ambience 9/10, service 10/10, food 10/10, beach access 10/10, just a 1-minute drive from the resort.

The lake view, garden, and public resort facilities were great. Check-in and check-out were very fast, and the Saudi staff at reception were very kind. Room service was kind too, if you could find someone. The boats, parachutes, and jet ski cost extra, and were a little pet expensive, but fun. There were plenty of problems as well. The toilets smelled so bad it’s hard not to mention it, and some areas, including the restroom floor and corners, were dusty and dirty. Used balloons were everywhere, beside and inside the pool. The private swimming pool was unclean and didn’t feel healthy to use, especially with so many people using it. It should be drained and cleaned from time to time. The telephone wasn’t working, and management already knew. When I told them, they said to use my personal phone to tell them anything I needed.

The staff were very nice and friendly, and the outside area was much better. The villas were a mess. I can’t believe we paid 1700 riyals per night for a place that was unclean, smelly, and filthy. It was worse than highway hotels charging 15 sar per hour. Hopefully the owners do a major revamp, because the staff and location are excellent.
