Ewaa Express Hotel-Al Shati

The staff were good, and our room was clean. Breakfast was nice, though there wasn't much to choose from. One thing to fix: we told them there were two of us, but the room amenities were only set out for one.

I stayed at EWAA for a week. The bell boys, house keepers, kitchen staff, and other lower level staff were all friendly, but I wouldn't recommend the place. The shower started hot, then turned cold after about three minutes, so it wasn't long enough for a decent wash. Breakfast was horrible, and the coffee was basically brown water. The iron was too dirty to use, and when I asked for a replacement ironing board, they just propped up the broken one and told me to use it. My food delivery was taken by mistake, and the person at the front desk firmly said they weren't responsible for watching deliveries and wouldn't help me at all.

We booked through Booking.com for the 23rd to the 25th under our family name, Fathima Reddy. At reception, we were told there were two bookings in our name. The manager on duty agreed to cancel one without a penalty, since one reservation was paid and the other wasn't, and we trusted that assurance. Even so, our account was charged for the second booking. We were told in writing that the refund would be processed within 15 days, but neither we nor Booking.com have received any update, refund, or effort to resolve it. This incorrect charge and the Ewaa team's lack of response show very poor service and raise concerns about honesty and accountability. I am only asking for the wrongly charged fees to be reversed. The location is very convenient, beside Jeddah car circuit, winter wonderland, and Red Sea mall. The hotel is clean, and the rooms are a good size with useful things like a bath rope, bathroom kit, and microwave. Breakfast was very good, and the staff were friendly. Special thanks to Emad AlSelmi at the front desk for being so warm and hospitable. It's a cozy three star hotel that I think deserves a higher rating, and I strongly recommend staying here.
