voco Jeddah Gate by IHG

I stayed here for work and found the hospitality really good, from the doorman and concierge to the cleaning staff and waiters. On the 18th floor, my room was clean and comfortable, and they refilled the guest amenities every day. That was handy since I'd forgotten toothpaste. Laundry was usually done WITHIN 24 hours, though it was a bit expensive and I hope the price comes down. The WiFi handled emails and paperwork well, but struggled with Netflix. Hopefully that improves. Lunch buffet was amazing, especially the desserts. I'd like to see more oriental, Mediterranean, and western choices. Ora Lounge downstairs had a great selection of coffee and sweet treats, and Ali makes the best coffees. I get thirsty or hungry late at night, and unfortunately there are no vending machines or self-service snacks once the hospitality staff have left. Maybe that can change. For a hotel gym, it wasn't bad. They could remove some shelving and add more equipment, but I was content with it. The sauna with hot rocks was amazing, and I was impressed by how much steam the steam room produced. But when I went, the steam room didn't seem very clean and smelled a bit. I didn't use the pool because I wasn't sure about the etiquette, but maybe next time. Massages were advertised, but weren't available. I was in need of one, and hope there'll be availability next time. Jeddah Airport T1 was 20-30 mins away. Emaar Square is nearby, with local stalls selling Oud and other things at night. Andalus Mall is also close, and Uber fares in Saudi are cheaper than in the west, so I checked Red Sea Mall too. There's a lot of open space around the hotel, so maybe there'll be more nearby in a few years.

I’m still in the middle of my stay, with two nights left, and already wanted to share how good it’s been. The room is modern, comfortable, and very clean, and the hotel has a calm, luxurious feel without being too much. From check-in onward, the staff have been welcoming, professional, and ready to help. I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels, but this has been my favorite in Jeddah so far. I’m enjoying every moment and already considering a return visit. Highly recommended if you’re coming to Jeddah.

The lunch and breakfast buffets are a real highlight, and I’ve never left the restaurant without feeling satisfied and happy. My elderly mother was with me too, which made the experience especially meaningful for us. At voco Hotel Jeddah in Al-Faihaa District, Waseem, the Restaurant Manager, and Ahmed, the Food & Beverage Manager, were attentive, professional, and wonderfully hospitable. Their care exceeded what I expected. I’ll definitely be back to enjoy the dining and stay again. Thank you to the whole voco team for making the visit memorable.

I wasn’t staying at the hotel, just there for a meeting, but Eslam, the meeting room manager, and Wassem Mohammed, the restaurant manager, were both friendly and very professional. They made the meeting and restaurant experience great. Really appreciate the kindness and hospitality.
