Akaber Al Hijra

The rooms are so tiny you can barely move around. Worst hotel near Makkah, wouldn't recommend it.

My parents, little brother, and I liked being close to masjid al-haram. The bathroom was uncomfortable and claustrophobic, though, with the toilet right in front of the sink. It was small, but the stay was alright. We didn't have the problems some other reviews mention: our room was clean, with no cockroaches or water issues.

The lobby was the only clean part, seemingly kept that way to attract customers. We were forced to stay because of my Hajj operator, and I think everyone should avoid wasting money here. I don't understand why government authorities don't check the place; it should be sealed. It doesn't deserve even one star. The hotel is only a 5-7-minute walk from haram, but there are many nearby hotels at a similar price with the same convenience and much better service. Here, there's no hospitality, maintenance, housekeeping, or cleaning. Rooms are dirty, carpets smell, sheets are stained, toilets are broken, and TVs don't work. The only room amenities are a tissue roll and a smelly refrigerator. Food comes stone cold, and management doesn't bother stopping people from smoking in the dining area.

Trash was everywhere, and the bathroom smelled awful. There was no TV, phone, dustbin, or room service. The lift was always full, and bus horns could be heard all night because the hotel is in a bazaar. It was a nightmare, and I wouldn't recommend staying here.
