Ali, the manager, was kind and attentive, and Mohammed at reception was welcoming, professional, and quick to help. Abdullah was respectful and supportive too. The staff made a big difference to my comfortable, pleasant stay at Golden Taj Hotel Makkah. The rooms were tidy and comfortable, with the essentials, and the hotel was clean, well maintained, and affordable, so it was good value for money. Umar drove the bus and made sure guests got to Masjid al-Haram for every salah, Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha, then safely back to the hotel. His transport service was reliable and consistent. He also kindly arranged my ride to Jeddah Airport. He's friendly, dependable, and willing to help, and I'd recommend him if you need airport transport from the hotel. Golden Taj Hotel Makkah is a comfortable, affordable option within a reasonable distance of Masjid al-Haram. I'd happily stay again and recommend it.

The shuttle is great, but pickup after prayers at Haram needs to run later. The crowds are huge, so you have to rush to catch the bus, which is really hard when you have kids. There's also some kind of smell in the corridor. For this price, though, the hotel is good.

Parking is available if you have a car, and transport to Haram runs for every prayer and back. It's close to Haram, and what we got matched the booking description. Very good for the price, and I'd recommend it as a cost-effective option.

The room smelled bad, and the hotel is far from Haram. Shuttle service is limited and drops you near the Marwa extension, so pilgrims in ehram still have to walk another 900 meters to the entrance gate, King Abdulaziz Gate or an adjacent one. Taxis and Uber aren't easy to find for a ride close to Clock tower or Ajyad bus stop.
