Al Waleed Tower

Good hotel, with regular transportation to kaaba as well.

The only frustrating part was getting to Haram. There's no dedicated bus, so you have to go early to the public bus station and wait, and the bus mostly doesn't come or is full. For every ride, I ended up taking a taxi for 15 to 20 SR, both there and back throughout my stay. The room was spacious and clean, with high-quality furniture, and the staff were friendly.

During my three-day stay, nobody came to clean the room, replace the sheets or take out the trash, and there was no water, tea or coffee. Room service never answered my calls. I had to call three or four times for an extra pillow, and it only arrived the next day. There was also a language barrier, since just one person at reception spoke English. I’ve stayed in ordinary hotels in Makkah that were much better. Despite its three stars, al Waleed was well below what I expected.

The washroom could be a little larger, and it would be better if the hotel had its own restaurant. Apart from that, I’d recommend it. The rooms are very clean and tidy, and the staff are helpful. I’ve been staying here with my family from 18 Ramadan through Eid Ul Fitr. The bus to and from Haram pak is excellent, with a trip every hour and a half.
