Funduq Areej Al Zahabi Makkah

I picked this hotel mainly for its location, since it’s roughly within 1 km of Masjid al-Haram and convenient for all five daily prayers. Buses to Madinah or Jeddah are easy to find nearby too. The hotel itself was average. The geyser didn’t work, and staff refused when I asked for an extra bedsheet, which was disappointing. When most of your time in Makkah is spent at the Haram, the location matters, especially on a budget. If you can accept giving up some facilities, it may still be worth considering.

The rooms are extremely small, and the bathrooms were unhygienic. The hotel was very unclean and the customer service was awful. Staff were rude. They said checkout was at 4, but made us leave at 2 while we were fasting. Worst experience.

We booked through MEEZAB Group Umrah Service Pakistan. The room was dirty and full of bugs, including cockroaches in both the room and washroom. There was barely room for luggage, and room service was very bad. The washroom is so tiny that elderly people can’t manage in it, and changing there is difficult. Only book this place if you don’t care about clean rooms or a comfortable stay. Worst hotel and service.

The location is good, but I can’t recommend this place because the service was so bad. For what they charge, this was the worst experience of my life. Even fitting ourselves into the rooms was a struggle, and the place was never up to date. The service is just pathetic.
