Meezab Alkher Hotel

The free washing machines on the top floor were one useful feature. My stay was nine days in the middle of Ramadan, traveling from Portugal, and at €19 a night the low price was why I booked during such a busy season. But I found the stay uncomfortable and wouldn’t recommend it for a pleasant visit. Getting to Masjid al-Haram was inconvenient because the hotel was quite far away. The shuttle wasn’t reliable, and we often had to change buses partway. At the transfer point, another bus cost about 8 riyals per person. There also weren’t any restaurants nearby, with the closest about 1 km away, which was especially inconvenient during Ramadan. Room service wasn’t regular. I asked about five times for cleaning and fresh bedsheets, and they finally did it after four days. They didn’t provide an iron either. In the bathroom, shower water spread across the floor and had to be wiped up each time, and there were no slippers. The room was noisy from traffic outside and from guests, particularly groups from Uzbekistan, talking loudly in the corridor. Some women knocked on doors at random because they weren’t sure which room was theirs.
