Reef Global Hotel

The reception staff were kind and helpful, though their appearance and attitude didn’t feel as professional as I’d expect at a 4-star hotel. The rooms also felt unpleasant because the lighting was so bright and white. Softer, warmer lights would make them more comfortable. Breakfast was the biggest letdown. The food was bland, there were very few choices, and it didn’t meet the standard I expected. The dining area felt more like a prison cafeteria than a comfortable place to eat. I was also uncomfortable with the hotel’s Yemeni bus driver, who was rude and shouted at guests. With the breakfast, the staff behavior, and the room lighting, I can’t recommend it at this rating. There’s a lot to improve.

About 10 minutes by car from Masjid Al-Haram, this hotel is in a peaceful part of Makkah. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the staff are friendly. It’s comfortable and convenient, and good value for pilgrims looking for a relaxing stay.

The hotel is well maintained and good value for the money, with a breakfast buffet as well. They run a shuttle to Masjd Al Haram, though from the drop-off point it’s about a 1.2 km walk to the main Mataf gates.
