Concorde Dar Al Khair Hotel

The food was yummmyyyyy, with Indonesian dishes whose spice and herbs suited my taste really well. The staff in the restaurant were super friendly, and the other staff were helpful too. The hotel is very close to the prophet’s mosque, especially gates 326-327. Cross the road into the mall, take the escalator, and you'll find bin dawood. The room was spotless when cleaned, if you put out the ‘Please Make Up My Room’ tag. The aisles were quiet and clean, though they could get crowded with people waiting for the elevator before adzhan. The lively lobby has a coffee shop, but it also gets crowded before Adhan and after shalat when people wait for the elevator. This is the best hotel I’ve stayed in Madinah, and a good choice if you like that lively atmosphere.

We booked a king-bed room through the app for two days, but at arrival the hotel argued that it didn't have one, so my wife and I got two single beds. The room wasn't clean, and its windows didn't shut tightly, letting the sound of generators outside into the room all day and night. We received only two towels for two people, with no hand, foot, or head towels. When I asked for another, they refused, and wouldn't even provide a hand towel. On the second day, staff knocked and told us to leave, saying our reservation was for one day. We showed the receipt and two-day booking, but the man told us to contact agoda. We eventually convinced them. They were also spraying pesticides on the floor while guests were in the hotel. I don't recommend this place. Save your money.

Location is the only good thing here. The hotel is awful: extremely unclean, poorly maintained, and offers almost no service. The old furniture is rusty and looks like it hasn't been replaced or maintained in years. The photos on Google are completely misleading. They seem to be from when the hotel opened, and it looks as if no maintenance has happened since. My room hadn't been cleaned between guests. The sheets and floor had different kinds of hair all over them. It was disgusting, and I was so desperate I paid one of the cleaners myself to vacuum the carpet. Amenities are barely provided. You have to pay for everything, even water bottles, and you get just one roll of toilet paper. For more, you have to beg or go without, even after paying a decent price. The WiFi works a couple of hours a day, very nice if you want to reduce your screen time, but very bad if you go out of your bundel and need to top up. I've stayed in hotels across many countries, continents, and cultures, and this is by far my worst experience. Paying a premium for a dirty, unserviced, old, rusty room, with a high risk of getting sick afterward, is what this place offers. I would never recommend it.

The food was the main problem. The rice wasn't properly cooked, and the same dishes were served from breakfast through dinner. Although our room was listed as non-smoking, cigarette smell lingered in the corridor by the lift all the time. We have a one-year-old baby, so that was unacceptable.
