Diamond corners Hotel

I paid over SAR 200 for transport during my three-night stay, which defeated the point of booking somewhere with a shuttle service. The hotel is a very long way from the Haram, effectively a 40-45 minute walk, and finding a taxi at busy times was difficult when the shuttle wasn't available. Its rates suggest convenient access or dependable transport, but that wasn't my experience. The shuttle was unreliable and, in my view, misrepresented. Despite what other reviews say, it isn't a 24/7 service like shuttles at other hotels in Makkah/Madinah. It ran at limited, inconsistent times and was unavailable more than 70% of the times I tried to return from the Haram. After key prayers, especially Isha and Fajr, and sometimes Maghreb, it simply didn't run. Staff gave different explanations each time, including police fines, traffic, and “kafeel issues,” while shuttles from other hotels were operating. When I brought this up, staff were dismissive instead of helpful. This is a serious service failure and a misleading offer, particularly for guests whose main purpose is worship at the Haram. I strongly advise future guests not to count on the shuttle and to allow for extra time, cost, and stress.

The hotel was accommodating when my super fast Harmain train turned out to be super slow and delayed me. That made a big difference to my stay. Al-ameen at Reception was friendly and helpful, and the building is well made. The bathrooms also stood out, properly plumbed to Western standards with German faucets and the like. There are plenty of nice places to eat and shop nearby, and an Uber taxi to the haram costs about 15 riyals (£3), which is excellent. The hotel served a very healthy breakfast in the room. I didn't use the complimentary transport service to haram, so I can't comment on it.

At Diamond Corner Hotel in Madinah, the rooms were comfortable and clean, and Al Amin at reception was very helpful. The shuttle runs every hour before Namaz. It was a decent stay.

Ameen was kind about adjusting my plans when I was delayed, and sorted it out without any trouble. The rooms are clean and the interior is nice. It's a quiet location, around a 10 12 minute drive from the masjid nabawi.
