The location was a real plus, about a five-minute walk from Gate 326 of the Prophet’s Mosque, and the rooms were spacious. The building itself is dated, though, and the poor housekeeping and management made for a disappointing four-day stay in December during Umrah. I had seen the negative reviews but didn't believe them at first, and by then it was too late to cancel. We were given two adjoining rooms on arrival. Both had broken fridges, safes that didn't work, and TVs that weren't functioning. After repeated complaints, they fixed one fridge and the safe, then later the TV. These issues shouldn't be waiting for guests at check-in. The floors and carpets were dirty, and I never saw a vacuum or any proper cleaning equipment. Towels, toilet paper, and bottled water weren't replenished unless we complained. The beds weren't changed until we raised it, and we were told housekeeping couldn't enter when guests weren't there. That meant nothing got done unless we were present and kept asking. I've never stayed somewhere where you have to request room cleaning. Housekeeping seemed to be the main problem. The staff were mostly young boys who came across as careless and uninterested, and some were rude. Whether they're overworked or underpaid, it showed in their attitude and work. One staff member brushed me off when I asked about the lack of cleaning. The linen, duvets, and pillows were also worn out and uncomfortable. We stayed at Mysk Touch last year, not far away, and the difference was night and day: polite staff, good housekeeping, and proper management. This hotel needs better training, manners, supervision, and a manager who checks that cleaning standards are met. It's a shame, because with proper cleanliness and management it could be a good place. I wouldn't stay here again.

The hardworking Bangladeshi staff did their best to help us, and the location was fairly good, nearer the women's entrance of Masjid Nabawi. But plenty of other hotels are close too, and I wish we'd stayed at one of them. The stay was badly disorganized. At check-in, other guests were already complaining about their check-in and check-out dates, and the same sort of confusion kept happening. We were assigned a room that was occupied. With three kids, this was more than a small inconvenience, and it took at least 30 minutes to sort out. The next day we were told to check out, and then this happened nearly every day, even though we'd confirmed our actual checkout date the day before. The rooms were falling apart. Curtains hung off their rails, the door looked as if a wild animal had attacked it, and the carpets felt dirty. There were no hand towels, and the toilet door was so stiff we needed all our strength to open it. The beds were too high for our children to climb onto, and the hard, high pillows left us with neck cramps.

Breakfast was great, and the waiters were great too. The rest was frustrating: even though we'd made reservations ahead of arrival, it took two hours to get a room. Reception staff wouldn't listen and weren't cooperative. Our room smelled bad, wasn't properly cleaned, and had a lot of noise coming from somewhere. Room service answered the phone maybe one percent of the time.

Blood stains on the sheets shortly after check-in were completely unacceptable and raised serious hygiene concerns. We had to call staff repeatedly before they changed them, and they gave no proper explanation or sincere apology. Housekeeping then tried to blame us instead of accepting the failure. When I raised it at reception, they seemed uninterested. Taking the issue to management changed nothing. As Indian guests, we felt our concerns weren't treated with the same importance or respect as other guests, which made an already distressing situation worse. Even after we said we'd post about it online, there was no urgency or change in attitude. The only “compensation” offered was a few bottles of water, which felt insulting given what had happened. In Madinah, cleanliness, hospitality, and respect for guests, especially pilgrims, should be held to a high standard. Clean sheets are a basic expectation, and this failure left serious concerns about hygiene and management. Our stay at Waqf Outhman bin Affan Hotel was deeply disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend it.

The room had dirty hair all over the bed when we arrived, which was extremely unhygienic and clearly hadn't been cleaned properly. We were traveling with toddlers, and after complaining, nothing was done for four hours. Waiting that long in a dirty room with small children was stressful and unacceptable. The complaint process was disorganized too. Staff changed after a few hours, so we had to explain the whole problem again each time. There was no handover, follow-up, or sense of responsibility. One room had a toilet that didn't work, and there were no blankets in the toilet/bathroom. The rooms seemed dirty and poorly maintained, and the place felt unsuitable for families, especially those with toddlers. The slow response, broken facilities, and staff disorganization made the stay very unpleasant. We wouldn't recommend it to anyone, particularly families with young children.
