Le Domaine de L'Orangeraie

The staff were the highlight at Le Domaine de L’Organeraie. Everyone was helpful and kept smiling, and we loved that. My wife and I stayed there on our honeymoon, and the hotel lived up to its reputation as one of the island's best. I can't recall the exact room, but it was very large and in great condition, with a balcony and a fun bathroom that didn't have an outdoor shower. Breakfast by the coast was a beautiful way to start the day. Some tables are better than others, so just ask for the one you want. The island itself is incredibly beautiful and has a wonderfully calm feel.

The room was fine, but it had ants throughout. At this price point, that wasn't what we expected. The property itself is beautiful, with lovely grounds, views, and atmosphere, and the restaurant food was genuinely good. Still, the service and guest care need to match the price and reputation. We told reception we were on our honeymoon, but instead of a welcome or congratulations, they said honeymoon benefits only apply if the marriage certificate is less than six months old. That rule makes little sense to us. Couples may plan their honeymoon well after the wedding, and the other hotels we stayed at across the three main islands on our island-hopping trip, four nights at each, made us feel welcomed and celebrated. This was the only place where we felt dismissed, and it became the least enjoyable stay of the trip. The receptionist didn't seem prepared to handle it, so we spoke with the reception manager. The manager repeated the policy, then resolved the situation out of goodwill. It's a beautiful place, but a bit more flexibility and kindness could have made a big difference, especially for honeymooners.

At first, we were a little nervous about how far the route was and the altitude when we got our room. But then we found out the hotel's baggies would pick us up and drop us off whenever we needed, and the hotel met all our needs. Everything else was very good, and we'd recommend it to everyone.

Charan made us feel so welcome and gave us a great experience, and I’m grateful to him and the whole team. Thanks as well to Charan, Ajay, Sai, Mr. Sajji, and Vinay for being so kind and helpful. We had the best time here. The spa was amazing, and our room was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and luxurious. We loved relaxing on the balcony and looking out over the forest.
