Zanboza Guesthouse

Anna-Marie was kind and accommodating, and made us a delicious breakfast each morning. When we had to catch the ferry back to Mahe, she even prepared it extra early. We ate on the balcony with a view of the jungle canopy. The location is central, and renting bikes here for 100SCR made it easy and fun to ride through the jungle and reach almost anywhere on the island. We enjoyed all 5 nights. The room has no kitchen, so it feels more like a guesthouse or homestay than a self-catering apartment, though guests can use the main kitchen. The mattress was a bit uncomfortable and the shower a bit old. Pick-up and drop-off at the ferry is recommended. I'd recommend Zanboza for a relaxing stay on La Digue.

It's a nice, quiet place with spacious rooms, friendly caretaker, mountain views, and a good breakfast. The caretaker can arrange day tours, though they don't know the island very well. It's far from the ferry, so rent a bicycle to get there.

The breakfast was the one good part, really filling, with plenty of fruit and eggs. We didn't like the rooms, and the shared area felt strange too. The owners seemed angry that we hadn't rented bikes from them and came across as quite rude.

We came to La Digue mainly to get married, and during our research we'd found Wilfrid as a wedding planner and contacted him directly. He listened to what we wanted and met all our expectations. We had a lovely little ceremony at La Grande Anse with vanilla cake and a conconut drink. When we got back, Anne-Marie had decorated the bed with flowers in all colors. Thank you for everything. We'll definitely come back to you when we're on La Digue again. We'd wanted a quiet, intimate place surrounded by nature, away from the busiest tourist areas, and Zanboza Guesthouse was exactly what we hoped for. We stayed about a week and enjoyed every moment. Wilfrid was discreet but always there if anything came up, and very kind and polite. His cousin Anne-Marie served breakfast on the terrace every morning and made us a good dinner on our first day. We also went on a hike with Wilfrid`s coworker Sydney, with thrilling views across the island. That was a highlight of our stay.
