Sea View Lodge

We’ve visited Praslin twice now, and Sea View Lodge has the most welcoming family. They treat you like one of their own, and the staff are brilliant, helpful, and full of humor. We stayed in Apple villa, which was bright and had ample space. I loved the personal local touches and how the place reflects its owners. The beach is just across the road from the front door. It’s a quiet location, and the lodge can arrange car hire at a good price, giving you the freedom to explore the island and somewhere lovely to come back to. The price is great too. The restaurant is onsite, and everything is homemade. You can taste the care they put into the food. Thank you so much, Gretel and Barry. We’ll see you soon x

I spent a few days at Sea View Lodge, staying in Apple and Banana Villas. The rooms were very clean, and I ate at the Sea View restaurant, where the food was really good. The best part was the team and their good mood. I shared a lovely moment with some of them, and it became one of my best memories from the trip. The staff were incredible and always ready to help. Huge thanks to Sonu, and cheers to Greg and Andrew. They kept finding ways to help us and surprise us. We were very pleased with our 13-night stay at Sea View Lodge. We stayed in Banana villa. The rooms were quite fine, though some could use maintenance or refurbishing. The lodge offers car rental, which we didn’t use, and small transparent kayaks for rent, with a good discount for Sea View Lodge residents. There are four tortoises in a pen. We had mixed feelings about it because the pen seemed extremely small for such big creatures, though our daughter went to see them twice a day. The restaurant had great views and was pretty good, but it’s the only one in Anse Possession and slightly expensive. The closest beach is very muddy, although the sunset views are beautiful. There are other good spots within walking distance, including Anse Takamaka, where the high-end hotel Raffles is located, about a 20-minute walk away. Anse Possession is a little remote, and Anse Volbert is about a half-hour walk along a dangerous road for pedestrians. Buses make it easy to get around, but unfortunately they stop running at 6pm.

I visited Praslin last February with a couple of friends and stayed three nights in a Sea View villa. It was a pleasant place with clean rooms and plenty of space, air conditioning, and recently updated bathrooms. Breakfast was generous and served at the villa. The well-designed garden between the buildings felt almost botanical, and yes, they have their own giant turtles there. The people were quiet and friendly, and we felt extremely safe, as we did throughout Seychelles. Lunch or dinner is available by request. We found the catch of the day very tasty. The beach is right in front, across the driveway, though having a rental car may come in handy. It was a pleasant stay and worth the money. I’d warmly recommend it to my friends.
